Emmett J. Arnold
Henry County, GA Attorney
Emmett Arnold has practiced law in south metro Atlanta since he began his legal career in 1987, obtaining his Juris Doctor degree from Georgia State University College of Law, where he was admitted into the very first class of the new law school in 1982. He comes from a family of legal excellence, following in the footsteps of his late father, Judge Emmett J. Arnold, III. Judge Arnold began practicing law in Jonesboro, Georgia in 1968 and serving sixteen years as Chief Judge of the State Court of Clayton County before his retirement. Emmett is proud of his father’s contribution to the legal profession and has worked hard his entire career to strengthen the family legacy of providing unmatched legal counsel.
For many years now, Emmett’s law practice has focused primarily on the areas of family and domestic relations law and probate and estate administration and litigation. Emmett has been appointed to serve as County Administrator and County Conservator in counties throughout Georgia and currently serves as County Administrator and Conservator for Henry County. In addition to having thousands of happy clients served in Henry and surrounding counties, Emmett has received multiple awards throughout his legal career, including the Excellence in Bar Leadership Award; has served as a member and on the leadership board of local bar associations, including the Henry County Bar Association; is a longtime member of the Lawyer’s Club of Atlanta, an invitation-only group of Atlanta’s most influential attorneys and judges; and has served the community by serving on various boards and volunteering with the Georgia High School Mock Trial program and on the Eagle Scout Board of Review with the Boy Scouts of America.
Emmett brings his wide-ranging experience to his law practice, allowing him to represent clients efficiently and effectively in family law and probate matters, including divorce, child custody disputes, and administration of decedent’s estates.
Through participating in mediation sessions with clients, Emmett developed an interest in the mediation and alternative dispute resolution process. He is now a certified mediator through the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and regularly serves as a mediator in cases in which he is not involved as an attorney. Emmett’s substantial experience as an attorney and litigator lends itself to his success as a mediator, working with parties and attorneys to craft workable, creative solutions to solve problems—the best part of the job!
Emmett was born and raised in Clayton County and now resides on Lake Sinclair in Lake Country where he enjoys relaxing on the lake and spending time with family and friends.
